A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mario Tahi Lathan holds an MFA in Film degree from Howard University. As a Producer and Editor, Mario has worked on programming for major networks ranging from PBS, TNT, Travel, BET, ESPN, CNN, and El Rey, including the Emmy award winning series, Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and the Emmy award winning film Dreamland: The Rise and Fall of Black Wall Street (CNN). 
As a Director/Producer, Mario has also released several Jazz documentaries starting with, VICTORY!, featuring saxophonist JD Allen (Best short form video by the Jazz Journalists Association – 2012),  and the feature length: Jaimeo Brown’s Transcendence (2014) and This Is The Bash (2019 – Qwest TV/Amazon Prime/Tubi). 
In addition to being a proud Father to children, William and Sofia, Mario also created the Africa Everywhere (The Africa Channel/Amazon Prime/Tubi) television series, focusing on the African Diaspora worldwide.
